Ross Baumann is a law clerk and regulated Canadian immigration consultant in the Waterloo Region office, working with Bill MacGregor, leader of the Immigration Practice Group.
Ross advises and supports Canadian and international businesses across a wide range of industries, as well as individual clients, with respect to immigration matters, including short-term entries to Canada as visitors or business visitors; work permits, including intra-company transfers, professionals under CUSMA or other free trade agreements, and through the Labour Market Impact Assessments process; supporting the entry of family members, including obtaining visitor visas, study permits or work permits; permanent residence, including Express Entry, provincial nominations (e.g. OINP), and Spousal Sponsorships; permanent residence cards; and Canadian citizenship.
Before joining Gowling WLG in 2014, Ross worked as an immigration paralegal in the Toronto office of a global immigration consulting firm. Ross also worked with the Canada Border Services Agency as a student border services officer at Toronto Pearson Airport with a focus on immigration.
Ross holds a certificate in immigration law, policies and procedures from the University of British Columbia and a paralegal diploma from Sheridan College. He also studied history and philosophy at Trent University.
