Bio

Sarah Campey is a legal director in property litigation specialising in a variety of assets from commercial and multi tenure residential property to urban regeneration schemes and energy and infrastructure projects. Sarah has a particular interest in rights of light and assisting clients to navigate the challenges of bringing forward developments.

Sarah advises clients at all stages from strategic pre-emptive advice to guiding clients through complex litigation. Sarah is known for her strategic, commercially focused approach. Where disputes are unavoidable she helps clients resolve disputes as quickly and efficiently as possible. Sarah regularly works as an integral part of client teams working collaboratively to provide innovative solutions to achieve their aims.

Recently acted for the developer in the High Court resisting an injunction in the landmark rights of light case of Cooper v Ludgate House Ltd and Powell v Ludgate House Ltd.
Advising energy and infrastructure clients on DCO powers to inspect/ carry out surveys and enforcing rights where necessary through the warrant procedure to obtain access in vital ecology survey windows to keep the project on track.
Advising on a wide range of issues arising out of public sector regeneration schemes, including consultation requirements, vacant possession strategies, decant of secure tenants and enforcing CPO powers. Avoiding judicial review challenges and obtaining vacant possession helping clients to bring forward transformative estate regeneration schemes delivering thousands of new homes.
In the commercial sphere advising on all types of disputes including arrears, tenant insolvency, dilapidations, breaks and the termination and renewal of business tenancies.
In the residential sphere advising developers including those in the later living, build to rent and student accommodation sectors on residential tenants' rights, service charge consultation and disputes, possession claims and legislative changes and proposals for leasehold reform and renters' rights.
