Trevor Newton

Trevor Newton is a partner and registered patent agent in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, providing strategic advice and services to companies, universities and government agencies in the areas of patent protection, portfolio management and due diligence.

Trevor specializes in patent drafting and prosecution in fields relating to biotechnology and clean technologies, including pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, medical devices, organic chemistry, metallurgical methods, chemical formulations and processes, agrochemicals, and natural products.

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Trevor worked as a researcher for a large international pharmaceutical company, and at the Canadian National Research Council.
