Ultrafab acquired by Ecolab in cross-border transaction

On November 5, 2015, Ecolab announced that its subsidiary Nalco Champion based in Houston, Texas had acquired the assets and operations of Ultra Fab Industries Ltd. ("Ultrafab"), based in Calgary, Alberta.

Ultrafab is a privately held company that designs and manufactures customized solutions and specialized chemical injection systems for the oil and gas industry, primarily used in the removal of hydrogen sulfide from oil and gas.

Nalco Champion is a leading provider of specialty value-added chemistry solutions, technologies and services that enhance productivity, decrease operating costs and conserve natural resources for upstream and downstream oil and gas companies. Ecolab is the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources.

We advised the key shareholder of Ultrafab in this transaction with a team that was led by Greg Peterson and Frank Sur and that included Zafar Jaffer, Alisha Virk and Riley Dearden (corporate/M&A), Roch Ripley (IP), Birch Miller (employment), Lisa Buriak (real estate) and Elizabeth Burton (banking).
