Sunil Kakkad, the joint head of Gowling WLG's India Group, has been named among the Top 100 international lawyers for India-related matters by India Business Law Journal for the fourth consecutive year.

Sunil has extensive experience advising clients on domestic and cross-border M&A, capital markets transactions, private equity investments, joint ventures and strategic alliances. As joint head of the firm's India Group, he regularly advises Indian companies, financial institutions and high net worth individuals on a wide range of cross-border transactions.

Sunil's focus on India stretches back two decades and he is a sought after adviser in the Anglo-Indian market, having been involved in cross-border public and private market transactions for Indian corporates and financial institutions, as well as for international businesses investing in India. He is also Chair of Gowling WLG's Corporate practice in the UK - a group that has delivered a number of high-profile deals in the past year, earning itself a place among Bloomberg's Top 20 law firms for global and UK M&A deals in 2021.

India Business Law Journal's International A-List recognises the most outstanding lawyers undertaking transactions involving Indian clients, looking at performance and prominence over the past 12 months. It is based on extensive research, including nominations and supporting information provided by experienced lawyers at Indian law firms and India-focused in-house counsel around the world.

Gowling WLG has more than 1,400 legal professionals in global offices, providing a suite of legal services at home and abroad to clients from a wide range of sectors. The firm has a long and successful track record in advising some of India's largest companies on their international business activities. This work also extends to assisting businesses in Europe, the Middle East, China, Singapore and North America with their India-related matters and operations.
