Alyssa Chen

Alyssa Chen is an articling student in Gowling WLG's Waterloo Region office.

Alyssa obtained her JD from Western University. While obtaining her JD, she served as both a caseworker and student director at the Western Business Law Clinic, where she provided legal services to small businesses and entrepreneurs. Alyssa won two Western mooting competitions and represented Western nationally at both the Canadian National Negotiation Competition and the Canadian Client Consultation Competition. At the Negotiation Competition, Alyssa won the "Best Advocate for Client Interests" award.

Prior to law school, Alyssa received her bachelor of arts at the University of Waterloo. Through the co-op program, she gained valuable professional experience working for both large organizations and startups. While studying at the University of Waterloo, Alyssa also volunteered for various community organizations and taught a series of leadership workshops.

Outside of work, Alyssa volunteers for the Mental Health Awareness Foundation of Canada as its social media manager. Alyssa also enjoys travelling, trying new foods, and going for long walks with her dog.
