Ashley Yarwood

Ashley is a construction and engineering specialist who provides commercial and practical advice on a range of construction, engineering and infrastructure projects, with a focus on major infrastructure and energy projects He has acted for a wide range of real estate, construction and infrastructure clients including institutions, funders, end users and public bodies. Ashley also spent four years as in-house counsel for several organisations and therefore is perfectly positioned to provide clients with advice that helps them achieve their goals.

He specialises in negotiating and advising on both standard and bespoke construction and engineering documents, such as building and engineering contracts, consultant appointments, bonds and guarantees. Having most recently been a client receiving legal services, he knows what clients want – sound legal advice that is given in a timely and efficient manner.

Experience

Ashley's experience includes:

  • In-house lawyer at Battersea Power Station, one of Europe's largest regeneration projects.
  • Advising a distribution network operator in relation to its bid for the high voltage power systems for Phases 1 and 2A of HS2.
  • Advising a nuclear decommissioning company on the procurement of various contracts with values from £1-100million based on NEC3 and NEC4 and assisting with the preparation of their template amendments to the NEC4 suite of contracts.
  • Advising a the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority on its procurement strategy for nuclear waste remediation for a project with a life span of 150 years.
  • Advising on the construction of new infrastructure relating to the UK's first student accommodation real estate investment trust on a major forward funding development in central London.
