Pam Vermeersch is chair of Gowling WLG’s Corporate Department, providing strategic leadership for the firm’s Canadian corporate commercial, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, and tax practices. She previously served as managing partner of the firm’s Hamilton office (2021–2025) and leader of the office’s Corporate Commercial Department (2019–2020).
Recognized by Lexpert as one of Canada’s foremost lawyers, Pam advises on the full spectrum of corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on M&A, private equity, restructurings and franchising. Her clients rely on her for pragmatic, business-minded counsel across an array of domestic and cross-border transactions and governance issues, supported by deep experience across manufacturing, technology, and franchise systems.
Pam regularly advises international clients on the Canadian aspects of cross-border mergers and acquisitions; large manufacturers on the negotiation of supply, distribution and other commercial agreements; and multinational organizations on corporate governance matters relating to their Canadian subsidiary.
To these areas, Pam brings a practical understanding of the realities businesses face when establishing and operating in Canada—an insight strengthened through a secondment with the Canadian subsidiary of a multinational manufacturing company. Known for her responsive, personable approach, she adapts quickly to the needs of each mandate and the dynamics of each deal.
Outside of her practice, Pam is deeply committed to her community and actively contributes her time and expertise through service on several local boards.
