As a partner in Gowling WLG's Hamilton office and a key member of the Recovery Services Group, she helps lenders maximize recoveries on defaulted loans while addressing reputational risks and implementing complex enforcement strategies.
Since joining Gowling WLG as an associate in 2016, Emma has developed extensive experience in high-stakes workout and forbearance arrangements, enforcement strategies, and security reviews across both commercial and agricultural loan portfolios. She frequently collaborates with colleagues across offices to deliver comprehensive solutions on complex security and insolvency matters.
Known for her innovative and practical approach, Emma develops tailored strategies that combine legal precision with a focus on client objectives. Her expertise in bankruptcy and secured loan enforcement makes her a trusted resource within the firm and a sought-after speaker, most recently presenting for the Ontario Bar Association on Enforcement of Secured Interests and Receiverships.
Beyond her legal practice, Emma is committed to community engagement through volunteer roles such as the pro-bono hotline with Pro Bono Ontario, and she has also served on the Board of Directors for Kemp Care Network as secretary and Chair of the Governance Committee.
