Inquiry and Investigation work
Libby regularly acts for the Secretary of State for Business and Trade in relation to company director disqualification work bringing proceedings against unfit directors in the public interest. Libby has worked with both the Insolvency Service and the Official Receiver in recent years conducting numerous investigations into the conduct of directors of insolvent companies. She also has experience of investigating personal insolvencies which have resulted in additional restrictions being placed on bankrupts.
Libby is required to draft complex and extensive evidence which has led her to develop significant drafting and investigative experience as well as knowledge of public interest considerations. Her work requires detailed liaison with clients, Insolvency Practitioners, HMRC, directors (and/or their legal representatives), accountants, banks and creditors.
Libby also has experience of assisting with disclosure and document reviews in high-profile Public Inquiry matters.
Data Protection and Cyber Security
Libby has assisted on a breach of contract claim arising following a successful cyber-attack on a client including pension scheme trustees. This required her to assist in assessing and compiling details of loss suffered as a result of the breach and involved compiling evidence of loss with meticulous attention to detail in order to ensure that all losses were claimed.
