Thomasina Carroll

Thomasina Carroll is a senior paralegal in Gowling WLG's Vancouver office with almost 35 years of experience as a paralegal in the area of intellectual property. 

Thomasina currently focuses on Canadian and foreign trademark prosecution and has extensive experience in trademark matters, including all stages of Canadian and international trademark prosecution, trademark opposition and cancellation actions, and litigation and enforcement of trademark rights. She prepares arguments in response to official actions issued by trademarks offices, drafts documents for opposition proceedings, summary cancellation proceedings, trademark licensing and transfer, and security interests. She also conducts due diligence investigations relating to passing off matters, corporate reorganizations, and mergers and acquisitions.

Thomasina has been extensively involved with the international trademark strategy for many large corporations and international organizations. She is familiar with the trademark filing requirements and prosecution practices of most countries, and regularly collaborates with foreign associates to secure protection of clients’ brands and trademarks overseas.
