Bio
Aingaran Satkunarajah is a summer law student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office.
Aingaran has completed his second year of the JD/BCL program at McGill University. During his studies at McGill, Aingaran is actively involved with the Legal Outreach to promote legal education. He also serves as co-president of the IP Law Club.
Prior to entering law school, Aingaran worked as an engineer (PEng) for over a decade in the manufacturing industry, energy sector and in consulting. He completed his undergraduate mechanical engineering degree at Queen’s University and graduate studies at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
In the energy sector, Aingaran has experience working in oil and gas drilling, hydraulic fracturing, and OCTG related material selection and string design. In manufacturing, he worked at Procter and Gamble with machine vision systems, quality process improvements and replicating offline testing. In consulting, he has worked as a project manager, project engineer and software implementation leader.
In his personal life, Aingaran is an avid traveller, hobby photographer and enjoys playing various sports (soccer, basketball and volleyball).
Aingaran will focus his summer term in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group.
