James Aston is an associate in Gowling WLG's Toronto office.
James completed his JD at the University of Toronto. During his first year at law school, James participated in the Baby Gale moot and volunteered with Downtown Legal Services. In his second year, he participated in the Gale Moot, arguing R v Marakah and was a student coach for the University of Toronto Gale team in his third year. James received prizes in Administrative Law, Family Law and the Alan K Mewett award for the graduating student with an outstanding record in Criminal Law during his time at the University of Toronto.
While attending the University of Saskatchewan, he volunteered with both Amnesty International and the World University Service of Canada.
