Lydia Sefton-Young is an associate in Gowling WLG's Vancouver office and a member of the firm's Indigenous Law Practice Group. Her practice encompasses Indigenous, environmental, natural resources, and energy law. Lydia assists clients with negotiations (including government-to-government negotiations), litigation, regulatory advice, and solicitor services.
Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Lydia completed her articles at a boutique law firm specializing in environmental and public interest law. She previously served as the Biodiversity Program Director for the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, a role in which she attended the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity as an academic delegate. Lydia has also co-authored publications with international experts on topics including climate law and nature-based solutions to climate change.
