Rafael P. Ferraro is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office, practising in the Firm's Litigation Group. His practice is focused on civil and commercial litigation as well as construction law.
Throughout his career, Rafael has acted for clients from various sectors of the construction industry in a wide range of matters, including contractual disputes, claims, penal cases, and more. He also has experience in public procurement contracts, having worked on various regulatory matters, such as obtaining or renewing an authorization to enter into a contract with the State, as well as in litigation involving public and parapublic bodies.
Rafael also acts in banking litigation cases for financial institutions, in extraordinary recourses such as judicial reviews and injunctions, as well as in defamation suits, some of which were publicized in the media. He also has experience in labour and employment litigation, including disputes relating to dismissals and to the enforcement of non-competition and non-solicitation clauses.
Rafael appears frequently before the Court of Québec, the Superior Court, and the Court of Appeal, as well as before administrative tribunals.
In addition to sitting on the boards of not-for-profit organizations, Rafael has been actively involved in politics for more than 10 years. His keen interest in the field has led him to work on a variety of electoral legal matters at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels.
