Robert Dorion is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montreal office. Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and business law have been his areas of practice for the past 35 years. Robert offers strategic advice pertaining to corporate and commercial law, as well as M&A.
Over the years, he has led working groups in business restructuring, acquisitions, mergers and combinations, as well as contract negotiations, public and private financing, and securities funding. His large clientele includes private and public companies working regionally, nationally and internationally in various economic sectors such as manufacturing, capital markets and retail.
Robert is respected for his resourcefulness and proactive approach when it comes to ensuring his clients' successes. His reputation is well-established among his peers and clients, and he has been featured in Lexpert, Best Lawyers and Chambers legal directories as one of the most prominent lawyers in business law in both Québec and Canada.
Robert served on the boards of many public and private companies, and was a lecturer at Université de Sherbrooke, Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and Université de Montréal. He has also been a keynote speaker at many conferences for various associations and business groups.
Robert has played a key role at Gowling WLG by serving as Montreal's office managing partner for six years, and by sitting on many of the firm's regional and national committees.
