We know that the recruitment process can feel daunting, and we want you to succeed. Here are a few tips to help you put your best foot forward when applying to and interviewing with our firm:
1. Tell us your story.
Your application is an opportunity to highlight not only your academic achievements, but also the experiences that have shaped who you are. We want to get a sense of your interests, skills, and what excites you about practicing law at our firm.
2. Do your research.
Take the time to learn about our firm, our practice areas, and the type of work we do. Demonstrating that you understand our culture, our clients, and our focus areas shows that you’ve thought carefully about why we’re the right fit for you.
3. Take advantage of career fairs and receptions.
These events are a valuable way to learn more about different firms and to make meaningful connections. They also give you a chance to meet many of our people, including students and junior associates. They are some of the best resources to learn what it’s really like to summer at our firm. After all, it wasn’t long ago that they were in your shoes, and they often have the most practical tips for navigating the recruitment process.
4. Show us your curiosity.
During interviews, we’re not just evaluating you—we want you to evaluate us too. Come prepared with thoughtful questions about our work, our people, and our culture. It shows initiative and genuine interest.
5. Be yourself.
We value authenticity. We want to get to know the person behind the résumé—the one we’ll be working alongside in the office or on a client file. Relax, let your personality come through, and don’t be afraid to share your unique perspective.
6. Highlight teamwork and adaptability.
Our students are involved in meaningful work across practice areas, often collaborating with different lawyers and teams. Sharing examples of how you’ve worked effectively with others or adapted to new challenges is always helpful.
7. Remember—it’s about fit.
Recruitment is a two-way process. We are looking for students who will thrive in our environment, and we want you to feel confident that our firm is the right place for you to build your career.
