On January 1, 2015, State Farm completed the sale of its Canadian businesses in property and casualty and life insurance, as well as its Canadian mutual fund, loan and living benefits companies, to Desjardins Group, the leading cooperative financial group in Canada.

The firm was Canadian counsel to State Farm in this transaction with a team led by Filomena Frisina (insurance regulatory/corporate/M&A), Peter Koch (insurance regulatory/corporate/M&A) and Stephen McKersie (corporate/M&A).
