Based in Gowling WLG's Montréal office, Matthew Finn is a lawyer and patent agent in the firm's Intellectual Property Group. He drafts and prosecutes patents and industrial designs, and advises clients on a range of IP legal issues.
Matthew's practice relates to a variety of technologies, including computer and information technologies, software applications, artificial intelligence, telecommunications, mobile devices and apps, computer graphics, video compression, medical devices, and consumer products.
He counsels clients with businesses of all sizes, from startups to multinational corporations, on IP strategy, IP transactions, patent and software licensing, enforcement of IP rights, IP searches, and legal opinions.
With a degree in computer science from the University of Waterloo and experience working as a software developer in a number of different industries, Matthew is able to provide his clients with creative IP solutions based on a deep understanding of their products and services.
