Taylor Rodrigues

Taylor Rodrigues is an associate lawyer in Gowling WLG’s Toronto Office. He practises in the firm’s Advocacy Department and is involved in a variety of litigation, often with a public law component.
Taylor's public- and private-sector clients benefit from his strong understanding of how government works and ability to efficiently navigate regulatory processes. Before transitioning to law, Taylor completed a Master of Public Policy at the University of Toronto and worked as a policy advisor and economist for the Government of Canada. He worked in various government departments advising the Prime Minister, and other ministers on pressing economic and policy issues.
As an articling student, Taylor worked on a variety of commercial and administrative litigation. He also completed a secondment at a large public utility, where he focused on regulatory compliance and commercial litigation.
Taylor obtained his JD from the University of Toronto. While in law school, he was a case worker at Downtown Legal Services, where he defended clients accused of criminal and academic offences. He also co-led the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights’s Police Oversight Working Group.
