Before embarking on her legal endeavors, she earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in political science and criminology from the University of Toronto. Her curiosity and global perspective found expression through internships at the United States Consulate General and the United Nations Refugee Agency in Toronto.

Amidst her professional pursuits, Darby enjoys hiking outdoors with her two golden retrievers, Hunter and Cleo. Her passions extend to gymnastics and track and field, which she competed in competitively for over a decade. Additionally, her familial ties and 19-year residence in the Middle East showcase the cultural depth and richness that shape her worldview.
