Stefan Krick

Stefan Krick is a summer student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office. He recently completed his second year of the Bachelor of Civil Law and Juris Doctor (BCL/JD) program at McGill University Faculty of Law.

Since starting at McGill, he has developed a keen interest in corporate law and has immersed himself in business law courses, hoping to practise in this area as he starts his legal career.

Prior to law school, Stefan completed a bachelor of arts in art history from University College London, a bachelor of science in analytical chemistry from the University of Manchester, and a postgraduate certificate in antiquities trafficking and art crime from the University of Glasgow.

Having originally been planning a career in paintings conservation, Stefan is deeply passionate about art and the protection of cultural heritage. He has served as an executive committee member of the Cercle des Jeunes Philanthropes at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal from 2019-2021 and as the president of the McGill Art Law Association from 2020-2021.

For 13 years, Stefan has managed a private real estate investment company and has been serving as the managing director and CEO since 2013. He also has other professional and volunteer experiences in the arts, politics and finance.
