Richard Beckingsale

Richard is head of the firm's Regeneration team - one of the biggest dedicated development and regeneration teams in the UK - and enables his private and public sector clients to successfully deliver major residential and mixed-use regeneration projects.  He also co-leads the firm's Build to Rent sub-sector working with landowners, developers and investors – Build to Rent forms part of a range of residential asset classes which are delivered under our Living banner allowing us to share best practice.

Richard acts for private sector clients Muse, Wates, Ecoworld. Quintain and Landsec.

In the public sector, clients include London Boroughs of Barnet, Sutton, Barking & Dagenham, Ealing and Hammersmith as well as council delivery companies, Westminster Housing Investments Limited and Be First (Regeneration) Limited.

Experience

  • Acting for Be Living prior to its acquisition by Ecoworld on a range of forward funded build to rent transactions in London
  • Advising private sector clients Muse, Quintain and Landsec on various mixed use and residential development schemes often delivered 'outright' or by way of contractual or corporate joint ventures
  • Advising St Modwen/Vinci on its bid and joint venture with the New Covent Garden Market Authority to deliver the regeneration of NCGM
  • Acting for the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham and Be First on the redevelopment and repurposing of brownfield land to create London's largest film and television production centre – Eastbrook Studios
  • Advising Barnet Council on the £4 billion joint venture with Related Argent – one of the largest regeneration schemes in Europe delivering homes, commercial and leisure space alongside a new mainline train station.
  • Advising the London Borough of Sutton on delivery of a world class cancer research and life sciences park.
