Jacqueline Knox

Jacqueline is head of the firm's cross-discipline social housing practice with more than 25 years of property and project experience. She advises some the biggest names in the sector on a variety of real estate matters including: land acquisitions; disposals; development agreements; grant funding; joint ventures; investment; residential tenancy agreements and (non-contentious) housing management. Additionally, she advises clients on a range of policy related matters and regulatory issues.

Experience

  • Advised on a range of affordable unit acquisitions for Legal & General Affordable Homes assisting in the delivery of over 1000 new affordable homes for rent and shared ownership;
  • Advised Sanctuary Group on the acquisition of over 800 units in East Anglia and Essex from Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) which included more than 500 supported housing properties;
  • Acted for client on acquisition of a new property portfolio from a separate sellers into a new Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) and the subsequent sale to a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) specialising in the provision of homelessness accommodation;
  • Acting in relation to the JV between Bournville Village Trust and the Homes and Communities Agency for over 15 years in their development of Lightmoor Village, Telford – the '21st century Bournville';
  • Advising a social property investment fund, new to the social housing sector, in relation to two lease back portfolio arrangements with housing charities and RPs, bringing a total investment of over £30m into supported living accommodation.

Clients

She advises a number of social housing clients including Sanctuary Group, Triple Point Social Housing REIT PLC, L&Q and Clarion, and newer for entrants to the sector such as Legal & General Affordable Homes.
