Anurag (Ragi) Singh
- Qualified, Solicitor of England & Wales (2005)

Ragi Singh leads our Corporate team and has experience across a wide spectrum of corporate work having advised on domestic and cross border M&A, private equity transactions, corporate carve outs, joint ventures and fund raises. His clients range from founders and owner managers through to private equity houses, aggregators and privately owned and listed multi-national corporations. He is well versed in navigating the complexities of cross-border deals and coordinating multi jurisdictional workstreams and equally comfortable advising serial M&A clients and those with less experience.
Ragi continues to hold a number of senior roles in our business including being the M&A lead for our advanced manufacturing sector teams (including aerospace, aviation, defence and automotive) and heading up our electric vehicle (EV), sports and India practices.
However, his sector experience is deliberately broad and clients also draw on his background as a former technology lawyer to support tech and tech enabled businesses. That breadth of experience helps him understand different business models quickly, identify growth opportunities and solve issues often using approaches utilised in different sectors.
Ragi works closely with and is the relationship partner for some of the firm’s highest profile clients – including household name brands, major family owned businesses and listed UK/overseas corporates.
We don’t sit on the fence and understand that we are paid to give an opinion. Our advice is clear, practical and focused on what matters most, so you can make key decisions quickly and confidently, and the transaction completes efficiently. We treat our clients’ money and priorities as if they were our own. We understand that our role is to manage risk but we also appreciate that you cannot do business without taking some risk. We aim to negotiate the best possible position for our clients without being inefficient, arguing "non-points" and being sensitive to the fact that the parties often have a commercial relationship to operate post-closing once the lawyers have moved on.

CEO Rigby Group (RG) plc: "We knew this project would be complex given it involved a sale of business spanning numerous countries, a carve out, a reinvestment and regulatory approval. Our previous experience of Ragi and the wider Gowling WLG team meant we were confident they had the expertise and resources to deliver in all respects against a challenging timetable. This, combined with the strategic importance of this sale, meant they were a natural choice for us".
Halfords general counsel and company secretary: "Gowling WLG was a natural choice for this transaction given their knowledge of the sector, specialist Property M&A team and level of resource they were able to call upon to ensure we completed the transaction as quickly and efficiently as possible. The business and I valued the fact that they genuinely advised us – across a broad range of, sometimes complex, issues - and demonstrated a balanced attitude to risk within the context of us being a listed company. My colleagues and I look forward to working with Ragi and the Gowling WLG team again."
Group Legal Counsel TT Electronics plc: "Ragi was a huge draw in us instructing Gowling WLG, and his legal and commercial knowledge are "stand out". Ragi spots issues that are outside of his remit and these are flagged. When the team work with Ragi we get a good feeling that everything is under control."
