Jessie Zheng is a law clerk at Gowling WLG’s Calgary office.
As a licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, she specializes in facilitating temporary and permanent entry into Canada for both corporate and individual clients, working closely with human resource departments on a broad spectrum of Canadian immigration and citizenship matters. These include permanent residence applications, work and study permits, temporary resident visas, Canadian citizenships, Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs), LMIA-exempt work permits, passport issues, and entry to Canada under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and other international treaties.
In her role, Jessie interacts regularly with officers from federal immigration agencies such as Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Service Canada, and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), as well as Canadian immigration offices domestically and internationally. She assists corporate clients hiring foreign nationals in both Canada and the U.S., helping to manage cross-border travel and global workforces.
Jessie also assists with U.S. immigration matters, preparing petitions for temporary and permanent statuses across various categories.
Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Jessie often serves as a liaison for Chinese clients, facilitating communication between them and Gowling WLG’s lawyers on business development and legal matters. She also assists with document translation, ensuring seamless client service.
