Bio
John Norman is a partner, experienced patent trial lawyer and negotiator. He specializes in pharmaceutical lifecycle management helping clients to build robust patent portfolios and develop litigation strategies that can withstand the rigours of litigation by multiple challengers. John represents a wide range of blue chip international innovation-driven companies. John regularly appears before the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada representing clients on all aspects of patent litigation and pharmaceutical regulation matters.
John is an active member of the Canadian and international legal community. He served nearly 10 years as a director on the Board of Directors of BIOTECanada and is a sought after speaker and writer on pharmaceutical and technology patent litigation matters.
Prior to joining Gowling WLG (Canada) LLP, John obtained a PhD in biochemistry from the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie.
