Bio
Ivy obtained her LL.M. of Common Law from the City University of Hong Kong and LL.M. in Civil and Commercial Law from P.R.C. Southwest University of Political Science and Law respectively. This has enabled her to develop an in-depth understanding of both civil law and common law.
Ivy joined Gowling WLG from her former role as presiding judge in the Chinese court, where she also served as the deputy director of its IP division. She has worked in the judiciary for over 16 years and has handled thousands of cases of intellectual property, civil and commercial disputes.
She has extensive experience in enforcing IP rights for clients through both court proceedings and administrative proceedings, with a particular focus on online unfair competition, data protection, trademark, counterfeit and patent disputes, and has in-depth insight and creative dispute resolution skills in handling new types of technology-based cases.
She specialises in providing constructive and holistic strategic advice to domestic and international clients on IP management and IP rights protection. She has provided legal services to a number of multinational corporations, domestic listed companies and Internet giants in criminal and civil matters relating to trade secrets. She has also provided comprehensive legal services including strategic analysis, parallel litigation and effective counter-attack in relation to IPR battles between domestic and foreign renowned companies and competitors across multiple jurisdictions.
Ivy was nominated as "2022 WIPR Influential Women in IP" by World IP Review.
