Gowling WLG welcomes restructuring & insolvency lawyer Léa Couture-Thériault to its Montreal office
Based in Montreal, Léa Couture-Thériault has joined Gowling WLG as a partner in the firm's Restructuring & Insolvency and Commercial Litigation groups.
Harnessing a sophisticated knowledge of Canadian real estate law, Léa helps her clients navigate the complex – and oftentimes contentious -- commercial leasing implications of insolvencies and restructuring transactions. She complements this focus with a broad background in real estate litigation, and routinely represents clients in disputes concerning the interpretation of a lease, the payment of rent, or the performance of mutual obligations under a lease.
Over the course of her career, she has acted for property owners and building managers, as well as condominium corporations and real estate developers, including those involved in large-scale mixed-use real estate projects.
Committed to professional development and mentorship, Léa regularly develops and offers training sessions on strata property law and commercial leasing to her industry peers.
"Léa has a proven track record of understanding the specific needs of her clients," said Pierre Pilote, managing partner of Gowling WLG's Montreal office. "Her dedication to the practice of law and her in-depth knowledge of strata property law make her a valuable addition to our firm."
