Gowling WLG’s IP Litigation Group in Canada announces Will Boyer as its next leader
Ottawa-based partner Will Boyer has been appointed the next leader of Gowling WLG’s IP Litigation Group in Canada, succeeding Laurent Massam.
This new role will find Will working collaboratively with overseas counterparts Huw Evans and Gordon Harris to grow the practice and pursue innovative strategies designed to serve litigation clients most effectively around the world.
“The world of IP litigation is complex and ever-evolving, with strategic decisions being made on a regular basis that could have profound future effects for a business. Our IP litigation team takes pride in understanding our clients’ business needs and desired outcomes to make the right strategic decisions for them and navigate this complex terrain with confidence” said Will.
“I look forward to working with my colleagues across Canada and abroad to explore exciting new avenues through which to improve and expand upon our service offering.”
Will’s practice focuses on complex patent litigation matters, which together span an array of industry sectors. Will also routinely represents clients in disputes across the full spectrum of IP rights – including trademarks, copyright and trade secrets.
Will has a particularly extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, where he pairs his IP work with a range of regulatory advisory services related to pharmaceutical data protection, patented medicine pricing, Health Canada Patent Register listings and certificates of supplementary protection, among other areas.
