
Bio
Adam Burke is a summer law student at Gowling WLG’s Calgary Office. Entering his second year at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, he holds a bachelor of business administration from the Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. During his second year of law school, Adam participated in the Corporate Law Institute in London, where he gained perspective on international business law issues.
During his first two years of law school, Adam established the University of Calgary’s Sports and Entertainment Law Club, heading the new club as President. In his role as President, Adam honed his leadership and public speaking skills. Additionally, during the year, Adam worked in the warehouse of a local furniture store where he oversaw inventory management and quality assurance with a focus on attention to detail. During his first year of law school, Adam volunteered with the Calgary Hitmen Junior Hockey Team. With the Hitmen, he created a data model to help project the value of draft picks based on historical outcomes.
Adam’s passion for law comes from his joy for learning and problem solving. He is eager to explore a wide range of practice areas and the various challenges and opportunities that they present.
Outside of law, Adam loves sports. He enjoys playing volleyball, basketball, and ultimate, and he is an avid Montréal Canadiens fan.
