Georgi Paskalev

Georgi Paskalev is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montréal office with a transactional-based practice focused predominantly on private mergers and acquisitions (M&A), venture capital, corporate finance, reorganizations and general commercial matters.

His clients include institutional investors, private equity funds, strategic purchasers and start-ups across a number of industries, including manufacturing, healthtech, greentech and EVs.

Georgi has considerable experience in the following areas:

• Negotiating complex purchase and sale transactions
• Structuring joint venture arrangements
• Preparing limited partnership and shareholder agreements
• Implementing tax reorganizations and negotiating commercial agreements
• Strategically advising emerging companies, including in respect of governance and financing matters (equity, convertible debenture and preferred share financings)
• Setting up and advising non-profit organizations, including in respect of governance matters

Prior to joining Gowling WLG, Georgi worked in the legal departments of two publicly traded aeronautics and textile companies.

Outside of his legal practice, Georgi volunteers for the Fondation sur la Pointe des pieds, a charitable organization offering teenagers and young adults fighting cancer the opportunity to participate in therapeutic outdoor expeditions.
