Jill Sylvester

Jill Sylvester is a senior corporate law clerk in the Waterloo Region office of Gowling WLG, working within the Business Law Group.

With over 20 years experience, Jill has extensive knowledge of the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010, Canada Business Corporations Act and Business Corporations Act (Ontario). She has most recently focused on assisting in the following areas of corporate law:

• Professional corporations

• Not-for-profit corporations

• Charities (including application for and revocation of charitable status)

Jill works closely with clients—directors, officers, members and shareholders—as well as accountants and legal professionals. She assists in preparing a wide range of corporate documents, including due diligence minute book/corporate record reviews, incorporations (organization and ongoing maintenance), asset/share purchase and sale transactions, financings, corporate and tax reorganizations, amendments, continuances, revivals, amalgamations and dissolutions.
