
Bio
Jordan Rivera is an articling student in Gowling WLG’s Ottawa office.
Jordan completed his Juris Doctor at Queen’s University. During his studies, Jordan was very involved with the Business Law clinic. Serving as both a student caseworker, and later a student lead, Jordan worked with small businesses, student start-ups and not-for profit organizations. In his third year, Jordan was awarded the course prize in his Aboriginal Law course for his paper entitled, “An Aboriginal Right to Gaming: Indigenous Self-Governance and Canadian Gambling Laws.” Outside of academics and clinic work, Jordan played on the Queens Law hockey team in his third year and was an executive for the Tortfeasors Rugby Club.
Prior to entering law school, Jordan completed his BA (Honours) in Business Law at Carleton University and completed a graduate certificate in paralegal studies at Humber College. As part of his previous training, Jordan shadowed a paralegal and assisted on small claims matters and matters before various tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and the Landlord Tenant Board.
