Bio
Nathan Tillo is a summer student in Gowling WLG's Toronto office. Nathan is completing his JD at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law.
During law school, he volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada at Kensington Bellwoods Community Legal Services, supporting members of the community in completing Landlord and Tenant Board applications. He has also served as a JD Student Ambassador at the University of Toronto and as a member of the Future of Law Lab’s AI and the Law Working Group, where he conducted research on the intersection of artificial intelligence and corporate climate law. In addition, Nathan volunteers with Kensington Bellwoods Community Legal Services’ Tenant Application Clinic.
Nathan has also gained in-house experience at a software acquisitions company, where he assisted in the completion of private M&A agreements.
Prior to law school, Nathan obtained his BA from Western University in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE), graduating with the Gold Medal. During his undergraduate studies, he was named to the Dean’s Honour List, received the Western Scholarship of Distinction, UWO In-Course Scholarships (Years III and IV), and the USRI Fellowship. He also served as president of his university’s Political Science Association, conducted supervised research on Canadian federalism and economic game theory, and acted as a senior editor of the Social Contract Undergraduate Journal. Additionally, he worked at the Bank of Montreal in the Anti-Money Laundering department.
Outside of law school, Nathan enjoys going to concerts, collecting vinyl records, and reading contemporary fiction.
Nathan will focus his summer in the firm’s Business Law Department.
