
Bio
Pat Haggart is a legal talent advisor at Gowling WLG. He supports the firm's law student programs, overseeing initiatives related to recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and performance management.
Passionate about talent development, Pat works with law students, associates, and firm leadership on initiatives that support career growth, engagement, mentorship, and professional success. He is committed to fostering a positive and supportive environment where emerging legal talent can develop and succeed.
Pat first joined the firm in 2007 as a legal administrative assistant in Ottawa’s Corporate Group. He worked as campaign manager and executive assistant for an Ottawa City Councillor through two election cycles and terms of council from 2010 to 2015. He found himself back at the firm in 2015 to work on the Ottawa office renovation and paper-light projects, before transitioning to legal talent.
Pat strongly believes that the power of teamwork and embracing differences are key attributes of why Gowling WLG is a great place to work.
Pat is a trained Mental Health First Aid Provider, co-chair of the Ottawa Joint Health & Safety Committee, captain of the Ottawa CIBC Run for the Cure team, and founder of the Ottawa office Run/Walk Club.
