Peter Ezike

Peter Ezike is corporate counsel in Gowling WLG’s Hamilton office and a member of the firm’s General Counsel team.

With a rich history of practice spanning the United States, Nigeria and Canada, Peter has honed his skills in both law firms and corporate settings. His expertise lies in providing strategic business advice, commercial negotiations, contract management, mergers and acquisitions, and legal compliance, particularly in the realm of privacy and data protection.

Peter’s journey as a legal professional has been marked by a commitment to excellence. He has guided numerous businesses through the intricate web of local and international regulations, offering innovative solutions that propel their success.

Before joining Gowling WLG, Peter worked at a prominent Canadian company with subsidiary companies. During his tenure, he established the bedrock of operational excellence in contract management. Peter meticulously monitored program performance and implemented continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the company’s financial and operational outcomes. His adept negotiation skills allowed him to secure key legal terms and effectively protect the company’s interests, even in the most challenging cases.

Peter holds a Master of Laws degree (LLM.) in Business Law from Chapman University, California. He is an active member of several international professional organizations, including the International Association of Privacy Professionals and the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA).

His commitment to service extends beyond legal practice. Peter volunteers as a distinguished peer awards judge with ILTA and contributes as a policy and research resource to the Climate Reality Project.
