What the team does

We're one of the largest dedicated construction teams in the UK, with 10 partners (one of whom was a finalist in the Women in Construction and Engineering Awards 2017 – Best Woman in Construction Law) and over 50 fee earners based in Birmingham, London and the Middle East.

We have extensive experience in a wide range of construction activities, both contentious and non-contentious and offer focused, specialist and commercial advice. There's so much more to us than building offices; we are well respected in the industry and known as a 'one-stop shop' for the full lifecycle of our clients' construction needs, offering specialist advice at every stage of the development process and beyond. From project conception and choice of procurement, through to the tender process, complex contractual negotiations, contract management, dispute avoidance and resolution, and commercial due diligence, our team advises clients at every level of the construction 'food chain'.

We're a truly sector-focused team. The opportunities to develop and grow a sector are encouraged, with regular sector meetings both within the team and with colleagues across the firm. The construction and engineering sector is itself a key area of growth for the firm. We strive to be cutting edge and innovative within our field, for instance in our involvement in the construction of Europe's tallest modular building, our expertise in relation to BIM and our market-leading experience in the fast-growing world of logistics.

We take training and development seriously, from writing articles, monthly team training sessions, a firm-sponsored Master's degree in Construction Law and Practice, participation in the TCC marshalling scheme, to delivering training sessions both internally and externally, the opportunities are here for you. You are encouraged to take responsibility for your own development, with the right support around you, to achieve your goals.We have a dedicated Professional Support Lawyer who is invaluable for our know-how and knowledge and we work within a culture of knowledge sharing.

What we don't take too seriously are ourselves. We are known as a sociable bunch and enjoy a range of social activities, from family fun BBQs to informal drinks to our own team meals and Christmas party. With all this, it's no wonder the trainees don't want to move from our team…
