There are very few pension issues we don't see, and with such a diverse client base our days are rarely dull.

What the team does

We're one of the largest pensions teams in the country, with more than 40 lawyers and a wide range of specialisms. Our specialist sub-teams include litigation, public sector, risk transfer and our unique employment/pensions crossover team CHRS (Combined Human Resources Solutions).

Our clients range from car manufacturers and major retailers to video game designers and watchmakers. There are very few pensions issues we don't see, and with such a diverse client base our days are rarely dull. Even the longest serving members of the team regularly see new issues come up and we love the challenge.

It's why we're very highly thought of in the pensions world. Our team is often at major conferences and we're often quoted in the press when pensions make headline news.

We get out and about and relish the chance to work with new clients across diverse sectors. And we're at the cutting edge of using social media, including twitter, webinars and podcasts.

What it's like to work with us

We're an extremely approachable, down to earth and fun team. We pride ourselves on being inclusive and collaborative. Pensions is a complex, challenging area of law, so it's important that we support each other to give our clients the best possible advice.

New joiners are given all the help and support they need to adapt to the team, with a buddy system for more junior members of staff and close partner support for more experienced lawyers. The office is open plan and everyone is encouraged to work collaboratively. You'll often find small groups meeting for coffee in our canteens or working on the sofas in our break out areas.

Our internal team training is second to none. We meet on a weekly basis for an hour of training, with regular opportunities to share know-how and ideas through special interest groups. If you haven't seen a problem or query before, a quick email around the team almost always leads to an answer and some friendly help or advice.

We're also a very sociable team. After all, there's only so much pensions law anyone can take! The team regularly gets together for lunch, drinks and after work events – which include everything from ping-pong to zorb football and karaoke to curry.
