CHALLENGING WORK BUT REWARDING PERKS

Although we believe in a healthy work-life balance, the work is demanding. But then again, we are training you to be an outstanding commercial lawyer and the rewards are huge. Will you have to surrender your social life? Not at all – in fact, we like improving it.

Your development

We want you to study the Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PGDL) at any University of Law branch. But we're flexible if this isn't going to work for you.

If you're a London trainee you'll study the LPC at the University of Law, Moorgate. Our Birmingham trainees go to the University of Law, Birmingham. We pay your fees for the PGDL and LPC, and you get a maintenance grant (£5,500 in Birmingham and £7,000 in London) for each course.

Postgraduate Diploma in Law

The PGDL course offers modules on subjects such as ethics and professional practice, contracts, equity and trusts, land law, public law, research and law of organisations.

Your pay and benefits

During the first year your salary is £47,000 for London trainees and £33,000 for Birmingham trainees. This rises for the second year to £52,000 and £36,000 respectively. And you get 25 days holiday per year, with the option to buy more.

A competitive salary is just one of the many benefits we offer. To mention only a few: private medical care; life and income protection insurance; pension scheme; £1,000 interest-free loan; childcare vouchers; and an employee assistance programme.

You may also like to know that we operate a cycle-to-work scheme. We help you with the daily commute through a season ticket loan. We have an active social club with sought-after tickets for events and a dedicated budget for staff entertainment (think drinks and annual party). What's not to like?
