Gowling WLG's Energy experts have helped Primrose Solar complete its disposal of its full UK solar farm portfolio with the final five parks being disposed of in January 2017.

The farms, located in the Vale of Glamorgan, Dorset, Norfolk and Cornwall, were the last of those developed by Primrose Solar, the total size of which was 260MW. The transactions undertaken by Primrose and Gowling WLG in 2016 included the sales of six solar farms to Greencoat Capital in November, securing a £42m project financing and the disposal of four solar firms at the start of the year to Bluefield, including the large-scale 48MW Southwick Estate solar farm in Hampshire.

Corporate and Energy partner Gareth Baker led on the deal with assistance from associate Jade McDonald. This final disposal was a complex split transaction conducted to a tight schedule, and concludes the programme of development and disposal undertaken by the company since 2013.
