Sanimax acquires majority equity interest in Colombian rendering companies

On July 30, 2018, Montreal-based Sanimax San Inc., a Canadian and international leader in the rendering business, acquired a majority interest in Agropecuaria San Fernando S.A.S. - Agrosan S.A.S. ("Agrosan") and Proteínas y Energéticos de Colombia S.A.S. - Proteicol S.A.S. ("Proteicol").

Agrosan and Proteicol, based in Colombia, are independent rendering companies that process beef, pork and chicken by-products. The companies currently operate two plants in the regions of Bogotá and Medellín.

France Tenaille of Gowling WLG advised Sanimax in this acquisition, working with Brigard & Urrutia in Colombia.
