Timber Automation completes cross-border acquisition of VAB Solutions

On April 4, 2018, Timber Automation, LLC, a portfolio company of Blue Sage Capital, announced the acquisition of Québec-based VAB Solutions Inc. in a cross-border transaction.

Timber Automation, with manufacturing facilities in Arkansas and Georgia, provides custom-engineered equipment and control systems for woodyards and sawmills through its Baxley Equipment and LogPro divisions. VAB Solutions offers a complementary suite of technology solutions for lumber production lines.

Gowling WLG was Canadian counsel to Timber Automation with respect to this transaction with a team led by Naïm Antaki and including, among others, Joey Suri, Jordana Levine and Tiffany Lee Bianchi (corporate/M&A) and Laura Gheorghiu (tax).
