Gowling WLG France advises GDE Group on its sale to Derichebourg

Gowling WLG's team in France has advised GDE Group, the main subsidiary of the Ecore Group, on its sale to Derichebourg.

Derichebourg, the French leader in recycling and waste treatment, finalised the acquisition of the entire capital of its Dutch competitor Ecore in December 2021. This combination, announced on 30 December 2020 and formalised by an agreement on 1 March 2021, has received the approval of the various competent competition authorities, both at European and international level.

Founded in Amsterdam in 1993 and employing over 1,300 people, the Ecore group processed more than 3.7 million tonnes of materials in 2017, with a turnover of €1.2 billion. With this latest transaction, Derichebourg strengthens its position as market leader.
