Our Real Estate team has advised HM Government on its new leased office within Birmingham Business Park.
The deal signals the biggest letting in more than two decades at the business park and will see HM Government take two self-contained buildings – which are 22,235 sq ft and 15,274 sq ft respectively. The office space has been taken on a 10-year lease at the Solihull Parkway site.
Gowling WLG advised HM Government on all aspects of the lettings legal process including structuring, real estate and tax. The team was led by partner Felicity Lindsay with support from partner Lee Nuttall and principal associate Angela Perry.
Felicity Lindsay, partner at Gowling WLG, said: "This deal illustrates that the region's office market is going from strength to strength in this post-lockdown resurgence. This letting was the largest at the site since the early 2000's and further highlights the appetite from tenants for quality office space. It showcases the Government's commitment to Birmingham and the wider area. We're delighted to have achieved this outcome for our client."
Neil Richardson, Commercial Property Director at Government Property Agency said: "This is another good deal for office space taken by HM Government within the Birmingham area in recent months and further cements our commitment to achieving strong commercial outcomes that fit our strategic needs and to the Levelling Up agenda."
HM Government's property adviser was Kelvin Craddock, at JLL Birmingham.
