Our Corporate team, alongside ADVANT-Nctm, has advised leading European special steels manufacturer Cogne Acciai Speciali ("Cogne") on their acquisition of Special Melted Products Limited ("SMP") a leading manufacturer of nickel-based special steels and super alloys used in the aerospace, oil and gas and nuclear industries, from Mutares SE & Co. KGaA (Mutares), a German-based private equity investor, for an enterprise value of approximately €180 million.

The team advising Cogne was led by partner Chris Towle and associate Annabel Brown (both corporate), with support from partners Samuel Beighton (competition) and Chris Stiles (pensions), as well as directors Angela Rawlins (banking) and Susannah Fink (W&I).
