On May 16, 2023, Wabannutao Eeyou Development Corporation, the wholly-owned development corporation of the Cree Nation of Eastmain, Quebec, acquired a majority interest in Transport Baie-James Ltée from Excavations Marchand & Frères, a company based in Victoriaville.
