Joëlle Boisvert recognized as one of Canada's Most Powerful Women

25 November 2015

Gowlings is delighted to announce that Joëlle Boisvert, a leading litigator and managing partner of the firm's Montréal office, has been recognized as one of Canada's 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women's Executive Network (WXN).

Launched in 2003, WXN's Top 100 Awards celebrate the incredible accomplishments of Canada's female executive talent, as well as their organizations and networks. Boisvert was recognized in the KPMG Professionals category for her exceptional leadership skills, her dedication to mentoring and her unwavering commitment to her clients. The awards gala will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Nov. 26.

"Joëlle exemplifies all the qualities of a true leader," said Scott Jolliffe, Gowlings chair and CEO. "She is an exceptional motivator who is constantly looking to help both colleagues and clients reach their goals. We are extremely fortunate to have her here at Gowlings."

With her unique combination of expertise, skills and personality, Boisvert has earned a reputation as one of Canada's top litigators and business advisers. Her clients, who include large national and international companies, turn to her to gain strategic business and legal advice for a variety of complex dispute matters.

As the first woman to lead Gowlings' Montréal office, Boisvert is committed to promoting the advancement and leadership of women in all areas of professional and commercial activity. As Montréal managing partner, she has made great strides in advancing Gowlings' position in the Québec market, and has developed a strong brand presence for the office. Boisvert is also a leading force in Québec's legal community, having contributed to the Barreau du Québec's professional development committee and other Barreau projects since 2000.
