Dan Polonenko named among the world's top IP strategists in IAM Strategy 300

Dan Polonenko, a principal and patent agent in Gowling WLG's Calgary office, has once again been named among the top 300 IP strategists globally in the 2016 edition of IAM Strategy 300 - The World's Leading IP Strategists. The guide recognizes intellectual property professionals from around the world who excel at developing and implementing strategies that maximize the value of clients' IP portfolios.

A registered patent agent in both Canada and the United States, Polonenko has more than 20 years of experience in the Canadian biotech industry - including seven years at the executive levels of two companies. With unique expertise in patent drafting, prosecution and intellectual asset management, he advises clients in the life sciences, oil and gas, energy and clean tech sectors on various complex matters, including IP and technology commercialization strategies.

Polonenko is the national chair of Gowling WLG's Institutional Initiatives Group and is frequently ranked in IAM 1000 - The World's Leading Patent Professionals and IAM Strategy 300 - The World's Leading IP Strategists. He holds a PhD in plant physiology and microbiology from the University of Waterloo, and completed his post-doctoral training in biochemistry at McGill University.
