Gowling WLG named Standout law firm with top tier Chambers UK 2019 Rankings success

International law firm Gowling WLG has again been recognised as a leading firm in many of its practice areas in the latest Chambers UK guide.

Among the firm's 48 rankings for 2019, Gowling WLG achieved two standalone band one rankings for its general Intellectual Property (Midlands) and Construction (Midlands) practices. In total, the firm achieved 16 band one rankings, of which two were UK-wide.

Additionally, Gowling WLG improved in three of its practice areas and it received 74 'leading individual' rankings; of which 13 of our partners have been ranked among band one.

Patrick Duxbury, Head of Life Sciences, was named as a 'star individual' in the Life Sciences; Transactional UK-wide rankings. Meanwhile Head of Real Estate, Richard Bate, and Head of Intellectual Property, Gordon Harris, were named 'eminent practitioners' in the Real Estate: West Midlands and Intellectual property - Patent Litigation: London categories respectively.

Among the rankings for 2019 were three newly named 'leading individuals'; Richard Green for Construction (Midlands), Partner Jane Fielding for Employment (Midlands), and Partner Andrew Litchfield for Environment (Midlands). Director Chris Nyland was also named a 'Star Associate' for Tax (Midlands).

Nicky Yarwood, Chris Stiles and Toni Weston were listed as 'associates to watch', with new listings in 2019 for Rob Bridgman and Simon Davies. Elizabeth Gane and Andrew Nugent Smith were both named an 'up and coming individual'.

This month, Gowling WLG also achieved success in its Legal 500 UK 2018 rankings, where 23 leading individuals and 13 next generation lawyers were listed.
